Prenatal Care at Her Holistic Physio

I assume you’ve landed here because you’re experiencing some pain or discomfort, or you want to know how to best move your body during this period of your life.

The physical experience of pregnancy is the facet that Physiotherapy focuses on in many ways, but it sits within the plethora of other experiences in your world — working, managing health challenges, caring for young children, managing a social life, relationship pieces, finances … the list goes on.

I want you to know that YOU are the centre of care at Her Holistic Physio; your values, goals and holistic life context.

You won’t find any ‘cookie-cutter’ approaches here. Instead, expect plenty of conversation and targeted assessments that allow us to best understand you and the unique experiences you have in your body. From there, we create a plan that marries my clinical expertise and hands-on care with what you feel would be most sustainable for you to implement.

Care is evidence-based, gentle, and grounded in a holistic understanding of how pregnancy impacts your musculoskeletal system, nervous system, and sense of wellbeing.

Consultation options:

  • We always begin with a 60-75 minute Initial Consultation – click here for what to expect
  • Follow-up sessions can continue as regular Physiotherapy reviews (45 minutes) with a focus on assessment, hands-on care and tailored exercise programs
  • AND / OR you can move into 1:1 Guided Exercise Sessions, which are 30-minute, exercise-focused sessions with no hands-on or in-depth assessment, but the feel of a guided class in a 1:1 context

Throughout that time, I have witnessed and heard stories from hundreds, if not thousands, of women about their various experiences on this path, from the amazing to the deeply challenging.

From this, I know that there are certain patterns and common presentations that arise during pregnancy, but I also have the knowledge (and dare I say, wisdom) that every single woman’s journey is their own and is potently unique.

Whether you’re experiencing pain, feeling unsure about what’s safe for your body, or simply wanting support to move and feel better during pregnancy, I hope that prenatal physiotherapy at Her Holistic Physio can offer reassurance, clarity and practical treatments to have you experience relief, as well as movement towards your goals.
